Kodak Grain

Organic grain and warm, forgiving highlights.

What this effect is

Kodak 35mm motion picture stock records light differently from a sensor: highlights roll off instead of clipping, and the grain re-forms in a new position on every frame. That living grain is what stops footage looking inert and makes it read as handmade.
